Some sarees are worn ,this one is carried, the way a devotee carries faith, straight from the sacred looms of Odisha.
Its sun-yellow body catches light the way only Tussar can ,warm, textured, alive , never flat, never artificial. The characteristic slub of wild silk runs through every drape, a quiet reminder that this fabric came from the earth.
he story lives in the pallu.
On a deep indigo ground, master weavers have rendered the sacred Ratha Yatra in hand-interlaced thread , the towering chariots, colorful canopies, the wheels in motion, the procession that has moved through Puri for over a thousand years. Every chariot, every flag, every figure is woven directly into the fabric, thread by patient thread, on a handloom that has not changed in generations.
The border follows the temple silhouette a bold indigo zigzag echoing the jagged spires of Odisha's ancient Deula architecture framing the golden body in devotion on all sides.
