Woven in the living tradition of Odisha's master ikat weavers, this double colour Kahandua pure silk saree presents a soul-stirring canvas of peacock teal, deep, luminous, and alive , adorned with intricate black ikat work that moves like shadow and light across the silk.
The body glows in rich peacock teal, grounded by bold black ikat motifs ,flowering sprays, curling creepers, and the unmistakable feathered edges of hand-tied single ikat each pattern a quiet testament to the weaver's unhurried mastery. Teal and white highlights within the black motifs give the body a layered, jewel-like depth.
The border carries the sacred Deula (temple) motif architectural spires woven in black and teal, marching in ceremonial rhythm along the length of the saree. Bands of fine ikat striping frame the border, adding structure and heritage weight to every drape.
The pallu deepens into dramatic black silk, richly worked with teal ikat detailing a stunning reversal of the body's palette that creates a natural, eye-catching contrast when draped. The endpiece is finished with a multicolour woven temple border in rust, red, gold, and black festive, sacred, and unmistakably Odisha.
