Where ancient rivers meet the loom!
Born on the handlooms of Odisha, the Matsya Lehari is a celebration of the sacred fish symbol of abundance, fertility, and the eternal flow of life. Woven in lustrous fourply silk, this saree carries the weight of tradition and the glow of gold.
The body shimmers in deep mustard gold, scattered with delicate matsya (fish) butis rendered in the timeless ikat technique , each motif resist-dyed thread by thread before the fabric ever meets the loom. The contrast maroon-black border frames the drape with bold geometric chevrons and fine dot-work, while the grand pallu unfolds in rich maroon with layered temple bands, floral medallions, and ancestral motifs woven in golden zari and black silk.
This is not simply a saree. It is a river-song set in silk.
