There is a particular kind of green that belongs only to ancient forests ,deep, unhurried, alive with memory. This saree is that green.
Woven in Pure Tussar silk by master weavers of Odisha, the Forest Whisper is a study in the quiet grandeur of ikat craftsmanship. Across its rich, textured body, small motif ikat butis are scattered in the traditional single ikat technique , each motif resist-dyed thread by thread before the loom is even warmed.
The Weave :The deep forest green ground is the canvas. Upon it, the butis appear in cream and rust , geometric, elemental, and ancient in their vocabulary.
Tha Pallu: The pallu unfolds in a cascade of horizontal ikat stripes ,bands of red, cobalt blue, saffron, and ivory a vibrant counterpoint to the meditative body of the saree. It is celebratory without being loud. Festive without losing its roots.
A deep magenta-plum border runs the length of the drape, framing the green with warmth and intention the kind of detail that reveals itself slowly, the more you look.
Why Tussa? Tussar silk is one of India's most storied wild silks ,harvested from cocoons found in the forests of Jharkhand and Odisha, spun into a fabric with a natural golden warmth and a beautifully textured hand-feel that no cultivated silk can replicate. It breathes with you. It ages beautifully. It is, in every sense, a living textile.
Styling Note :Pair with a cream or off-white blouse in raw silk or cotton to let the saree speak.
